Location
The Inishduff region has spectacular highland scenery, glorious coastline with lots of bays and peninsulas. Ideal for visiting Fintra Blue Flag beach, Muckross and Shalway beaches. Activities such as hill walking, mountain trekking, horse riding, golfing and deep sea angling are nearby. Inishduff House is en route from the lively town of Killybegs to the village of Kilcar, the gateway to Donegal Gaeltacht. The village of Kilcar has a community centre called Aisleann Cill Cartha. This organisation provides genealogical information, compendiums of residents oral histories and local history collections. Visit the prehistoric and natural wonders including Megalithic tombs, old graveyards and the Spanish Church. Inishduff House is the ideal touring base to visit, Teelin and Slieve League, Europe's highest sea cliffs, rising 1967 feet above sea level! Journey to Bunglas and climb the famous One Man's Pass. And not forgetting the World renowned Magee Tweeds located in Donegal Town. For sightseeing trips to view the cliffs from the ocean, Paddy will expertly handle 'The Nuala Star' an unforgettable journey along the coastline. Aidrian Molly is available for Tuna Charters from Mid August to late October, also many other types of angling and sightseeing. 12 km from Inishduff House is the famous Glencolmcille Folk Museum, which is renowned for its traditional culture and archaeological artefacts. Your host, Ethna, provides routed maps for the keen walkers and mountain climbers. A packed picnic is provided on request for your days outing. Ethna also has the menus on hand of the local restaurants, and will make reservations on behalf of her guests. Ethna will make taxi reservations for you.
How To Get Here
Coming from Donegal town, take the N56 which will bypass Mountcharles and drive through Dunkineely and into Killybegs. Then take the Kilcar / Glencolmcille road, Inishduff House is located 6 miles along this road. Once you reach a picnic area you will see direction signs to the B&B, passing Kitty Kelly's Restaurant and the Blue Haven Bar and Restaurant. Inishduff House is located beside the bar and restaurant.
